A Prayer for Soldiers

Heavenly Father: In the Name of the Victorious defender of our life and salvation, our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray for (name) in his honorable service in the United States Army.  Embrace him, Lord, with your mighty protection and grant him success in all his rightful undertakings. Grant him in all hours of need to see that you love him, and grant him grace in the hour of danger to commit his soul into your hands.

O Lord Jesus Christ, keep your servant, fortified, body and soul with the mantle of faith, hope and love.  Keep him steadfast in the holy and apostolic faith, ready to stand firm against all enemies visible and invisible.   Keep him safe from all harm and danger under the protection of your almighty hand.  Bless him, keep him, save him and make him worthy to glorify you together with your Father and Holy Spirit, now and always and unto the ages. Amen.

 

 

The Soldier's Prayer

O God, most merciful and just � Make me strong in conflict, brave in adversity, and patient in suffering. Make me vigilant to defend my country against her enemies and proud to carry her cause fearlessly into battle. I do not ask to be preserved free from all bodily harm, and if death is the price I must pay for our country's freedom, I will pay it gladly, trusting in Thy infinite mercy that Thou wilt make a place for me in heaven, there to know peace and happiness in all eternity.
